Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Metro ARchive work on my device?
Because the Metro ARchive relies on advanced software developed by Apple, the app requires iOS 12.0 or later. It is compatible with iPhone 6s or later, and iPad Pro (9.7-inch) or later.

What is the redeem code for TestFlight?
Our application does not require a redeem code to be opened. If TestFlight asks you for one, hit cancel, return to this webpage, and click here.

I don't have a printer at home. Can I still test the Metro ARchive?
The Doyers St. Board is best viewed when printed on US Letter size paper. If you do not have a printer available to you, you can open bit.ly/doyers on a laptop or tablet screen and lay it flat on a table for a similar experience.

I opened the app and all I see is my camera feed. Where is the content?
The app only enables its AR functionality when the camera is pointed at the Doyers St. Board or at the 2 Doyers St. building in Chinatown.

Can I get a closer look at other buildings besides the Tuxedo?
The Tuxedo is currently the only building that has full functionality for historic and contemporary mode in this prototype. Other buildings can be explored in immersive mode.

If I go to Doyers St. and point the app at a building, will it work?
Yes! If you visit 2 Doyers St. (the site of the former Tuxedo Restaurant) you can point your phone at the building to see what it once looked like.

Can I share this app with friends?
Yes! They can visit bit.ly/metro-archive to try it out firsthand.

Can I see the project code and files?
Yes! The project is open source and available on GitHub.
